For the FIRST TIME the UK’s LGBTQ+ community has been celebrated on a UK coin! The Royal Mint have released this BRAND NEW 50p collaboratively developed in partnership with Pride in London.

Encompassing the essence of Pride, the design by artist, writer, and LGBTQ+ activist Dominque Holmes (They/Them), features the iconic colourful rainbows as well as the words Pride, Protest, Unity, Visibility and Equality.

To celebrate it’s 50^th year in the UK, The Royal Mint portrays the history of the Pride movement and represents all those that support it with this 50p coin, depicting the movements political protest and social reform and the spirit of the UK’s LGBTQ+ community.

Excitingly, 5 million 2022 UK 50 Years of Pride 50p coins will be entering circulation, which is fantastic news for collectors!

Superior Brilliant Uncirculated Quality

Your 2022 UK 50 Years of Pride 50p Coin has been struck to a superior Brilliant Uncirculated Quality and has been placed in Royal Mint packaging.

Designer Dominique Holmes has said “The finished design encompasses everything I hoped it would from my initial concepts; I think it expresses the passion and protest of Pride within a celebratory aesthetic. I really hope it connects with people and reminds them what the movement is all about.”
