The week I met TWO Bond girls...

There’s not many people that can say they’ve met TWO Bond girls in one week, but I was lucky enough to do just that…

A few weeks ago, I met the iconic Bond girl, Shirley Eaton who played the ‘Golden Girl’, Jill Masterson who was famously murdered by being painted in gold by henchman Oddjob in fan-favourite Goldfinger in perhaps the most iconic Bond scenes of all time...

I went to visit Shirley her home in London where she hand-signed some fantastic Bond items (you can see the items she signed by clicking here >>) and I got the chance to interview her (you can check out the full interview in recent blog by clicking here >>).

That same week, we had a visit from the amazing Maddy Smith who played Miss Caruso in Live and Let Die alongside Roger Moore. You might remember the iconic scene where Bond (Roger) cheekily unzips her blue dress with his magnetic watch!

Live and Let Die was Roger’s first Bond film and Maddy was in fact Roger’s first bedded Bond girl. Of course, I was dying to know all the details about what it was like being so intimate with Roger Moore and what it was really like shooting such an iconic Bond scene.

Maddy certainly didn’t disappoint…

Watch our interview with Bond Girl Maddy Smith

The instant I picked her up from the train station to bring her to our offices, I was captivated by her hilarity and charm and I could see straight away why she got the part as a Bond girl. I felt like I’d known her for years as we chatted over a coffee before the interview...

The interview itself provides a real, personal insight into what it was like to be a Bond girl and work with the incredible Roger Moore – she clearly absolutely loved working with him and couldn’t hide her adoration for him. She reveals he definitely liked his booze and his ladies but always remained fiercely professional. I was also amused to hear that the scene with the magnetic watch didn’t go anywhere NEAR as smoothly as it looks!

Maddy also spilled some details about when she met Sean Connery
