JUST REVEALED: brand new capsule editions signed by Harry Potter favourites…

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I was so excited when Royal Mail announced the release of a brand new range of Official Harry Potter Stamps a few weeks ago, which is why our Harry Potter range is particularly close to my heart. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am totally obsessed with every single piece in our Harry Potter range featuring the new releases, but there are two items that have struck a particular chord with me; our limited pieces hand-signed by Harry Potter cast members...

I’ve been keeping these a secret for weeks and have been literally bursting to tell you about them! I’m SO glad I finally can, so here’s everything you need to know and why these are going to be some of the most sought-after of all the Harry Potter issues

Hogwarts’ favourites

There is no denying that, across the globe, our love-affair with Harry Potter is still as strong as ever. In fact, young ones experiencing the Wizarding World for the first time are keeping the magic very much alive and seven years since the final film (can you believe it’s been 7 YEARS?!), I think we may sometimes forget the reasons we fell in love with the Harry Potter series in the first place; the unsung heroes. These are the people that made Harry Potter what it is, the eccentric and absurd Hogwarts characters.

That is why the decision to collaborate with Miriam Margolyes, who played the loveable, dishevelled Head of Herbology, Professor Pomona Sprout and Katie Leung, who played Harry Potter’s first crush, Cho Chang, excited me so much!

EXCLUSIVE Capsule Edition – hand-signed by Professor Sprout herself!

Let’s start with Miriam. Taking her rightful place amongst Hogwarts’ greatest, Miriam Margolyes’ has hand-signed this collector card featuring the five new Official 2018 Royal Mail Hogwarts Professors’ stamps (from the miniature sheet) – Horace Slughorn, Sybill Trelawney, Remus Lupin, Severus Snape and, of course, Pomona Sprout herself. The collector card comes beautifully presented in a super-tough capsule keeping the stamps and signature in pristine condition forever. For me, Miriam is one of my favourites from the film series and my love for her has grown even more since she agreed to sign for us…

Iconic Professor – rare autographed presentation

Professor Sprout is probably best known for her central roles within the Hogwarts ensemble as Head of Herbology and Head of Hufflepuff House. Her stout, unruly appearance is iconic and her soil encrusted nails give the impression that she always needs a good scrub! Professor Sprout contributes to the protection of Hogwarts tirelessly throughout the series with everything from Mandrake Plants to curing the petrified. It is undeniable that Professor Sprout was, and remains to this day, one of Hogwarts’ finest! That’s why I knew I wanted her sign for us

 Our chat with Miriam

After contacting Miriam’s agent, we did not expect to receive a call from Miriam herself but were so thrilled when we did! They say you should never meet your heroes but that certainly does not apply to Miriam – she did not disappoint! Calling to tell us that she was delighted to autograph our fabulous collector card featuring the Official Royal Mail Hogwarts Professors Stamps made the whole experience so personal; her charming, funny character is beyond infectious!

Sought-after Stamps – Strictly limited edition

The Royal Mail Hogwarts Professors Stamps have already proven highly popular among collectors and fans alike and owning these Official Royal Mail stamps in an Exclusive Signed Edition is an extremely rare and special way to own them. In fact, you literally can’t get this edition anywhere else and for me, it’s the ultimate way to own these new issue stamps, especially in its special deluxe presentation case and numbered certificate of authenticity. For this reason, we have just 500 Signed Capsule Editions worldwide – when you consider the millions of fans across the world, this won’t be enough!

How we got Harry’s first crush to sign for us!

Our second Signed Caspule Edition is hand-signed by the fantastic Katie Leung, or as we all know and love her, Cho Chang. The autograph sits on the extremely RARE Official Royal Mail Hogwarts Stamp Miniature Sheet, featuring the crests of each of the four Hogwarts Houses with the Hogwarts Coat of Arms in the centre and comes beautifully protected in a super-tough capsule to keep both the stamps and signature in pristine condition and it means you can show it off to friends!

 My personal favourite

Cho Chang is one of my personal favourite characters, without a doubt. Not only are we introduced to her in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which is, in my opinion, the best book and film in the entire series but she is strikingly different to the characters we had previously come to know.

Belonging to Ravenclaw House, and playing Seeker in the house Quidditch team, Cho is a sharp, intelligent and skilled member. Combined with her astounding beauty, it is no surprise that Harry found himself drawn to Cho and even chose to share his first on-screen kiss with her. Needless to say, when I got the news from Katie’s agent that she would love to sign for us, I was so thrilled! I was even more thrilled when I managed to get hold of some extremely rare stamps for her to sign…

RARE stamps – extremely limited edition presentation

The Hogwarts Miniature Sheet was first released by Royal Mail in 2007 to mark the decade of success since the first book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released and are extremely rare. For that reason, there are only 250 Katie Leung Signed Capsule Editions worldwide. Given the rarity of the stamps and the increasing collector demand for autographs, combined with the special presentation, we are sure these won’t be around for long.
