This NEW £2 is the FIRST TIME EVER Alexander Graham Bell, the pioneer of the telephone, has been commemorated on a UK coin. In commemoration of the 100^th anniversary of his death, artist Henry Gray has designed a coin which depicts the dial of a push-button phone.

The words ‘PIONEER OF THE TELEPHONE’ are cleverly inscribed on the buttons and the years 1847 and 1922 feature – the inventor’s birth and passing year.
